Malfroy's Gold
MIGRATORY BEEKEEPING

The Malfroy family are migratory beekeepers and have been operating as such since 1970.

Our honey is produced is the Hawkesbury Sandstone/Blue Mountains/Central Tablelands regions of NSW.

We move our 1000 hives around the state, locating the best honey flow for our bees.

This requires an innate knowledge of the numerous flowering patterns of Australia's unique flora, and means that we are able to supply unique, pure unblended varieties of honey.

HONEY FLOW

After moving our bees onto a good 'flow', we monitor their condition regularly.

When (and if) there is an excess amount of honey produced, we take the honey back to our extracting plant, where the honey is spun out of the frames.

As our honey is naturally clean there is no need for excessive filtering, the honey is simply
left to settle, then it is bottled. We do not overheat our honey in the process.

It remains completely natural - straight from the hive!

Forest Glen Roses & Bromeliad Garden Nursery
Forest Glen Roses & Bromeliad Garden Nursery at Glenorie

A very unique combination of: the best cut flowers - Classic Roses and contemporary potted plants – Bromeliads, for retail and wholesale customers.

We are one of the largest NSW hydroponic growers of over 40 varieties of roses for any occasion all-year-round.

Our roses are unlike any others.

They are spoiled and pampered and their longevity is notorious to those who have received a bouquet of these blooms.

We have a firm belief in the “Keep it Local” philosophy “Buy Australian Made” therefore our roses aren’t globetrotters; they don’t come to you from the other side of the world.

We’re about keeping things affordable, natural and easy so that you can spread your affection and compliments to those you value and love. There’s really no excuse to spread some joy around.

Here’s where the magic starts. In just 3 easy steps you will pick a colour, length and number of stems you need to create your bouquet. Need more than one colour?

Leave it up to us and we’ll take the season’s best colours and create a luscious mix for you.

Maybe you need 40 stems for Mum and Dad’s 40th Wedding Anniversary, or 10 stems for 10 bruises your friend got helping you move house the other day.

Whether you’re a Florist with your own chain of stores or a Corporate Events Organiser…

Whether you’re a Wedding Arrangement Specialist or a Funeral Director, or perhaps you’re a Flower Trader/Wholesaler; WE’VE GOT ROSES FOR YOU!

You’re welcome to come, see and experience the daily process of picking roses and sorting using the most advance technology.

You can order your roses on-line from our website, rosesonthenet. Click on the link below.

At the same occasion you can get inspired by the seemingly endless range of colours, shapes, sizes and textures of most exotic indoor and outdoor Bromeliads.

We’re the only Sydney based specialist grower of more than 600 varieties of Bromeliads which are proven performers under Sydney conditions.

In a demanding world of landscape architecture and home gardening, there is always a constant need to find something different and new by way of plant material to fill the gap between the ordinary and the outstanding. Bromeliads are the natural choice.

This unlimited potential makes them also most sought after plants for flower arrangements and indoor/outdoor landscape artistry as well as creation of ornamental arrangements by mounting them on trees, walls, rocks, thus creating gardens that demand little maintenance.

YOU’RE WELCOME TO VISIT OUR FARM AND GET INSPIRED

We have just now opened a retail outlet at Shop 1B, 9 Railway Street Chatswood.

You will find our lovely fresh roses, bromeliads and fine European quality confectionery. Drop in and say hello. Direct from a local farm to you.

A Taste of the Bush
About A Taste Of The Bush

Our aim is to bring you the highest quality Australian native herbs and spices. Each packet has a suggested use with a tried and tested recipe. We would like to introduce the wonderful flavours of the Australian bush into everyday use and to show how they compliment the diverse range of cuisine available to us all. Australian native flavours are an excellent companion to many of the international foods that have become part of our daily lives.

Lemon Myrtle blends beautifully with Thai food bringing out the undertones of Lemongrass and Kaffir Lime. Dorrigo Pepper and Tasmanian Mt. Pepper give an extra dimension to the hot and spicy food of South America, while Wattleseed, Cinnamon Myrtle and Aniseed Myrtle are reminiscent of the warm flavours of German, Italian and French food.

These exciting herbs and spices can give an endless variety of tastes to our cooking and with a little experimentation, wonderful recipes can be achieved.

Pasta Italia
Husband and wife, Deni & Josie Rapattoni, own and run small family business - Pasta Italia, which specialise in traditional and authentic home-made pasta products.

Deni is in charge of the factory - over looking the production of the foodstuffs, while the retail outlet is run by Josie who is also the chef cooking up the delicious food for take away.

Pasta Italia source only the best and freshest ingredients for the manufacturing of their variety of quality products. There are no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives. Their pasta was the only entrant to receive a gold medal in this year’s Easter show, and they received the highest points ever awarded for pasta for their penne.

Deni Rapattoni says it’s great to be recognised for your hard work - they are already seeing customers flock to their Smithfield location after sampling their pasta at the Easter show - and it goes to show that quality goes ahead after winning their medals at the Show. Pasta Italia plans to make a bigger splash next year with a demonstration of their wares at the Show in 2009.

This case is a perfect example of numerous skills and passions complementing each other - Deni is a qualified electrician, having done an apprenticeship when he was younger but the fact that his family was involved in the pasta business spurred his keenness which led to Pasta Italia. Yet his past skills are still put to good use - the durum wheat which the Rapattoni's use in their pasta can only be worked by machine and along with the refrigeration units that run constantly to keep their product fresh: it is here where Deni’s electrical background is key to his business. Deni does all repairs to the machines himself and with his passion for his product he now loves what he does, he’s happy to be able to use his skills to keep his business working.
